Cleanup Champion (Tower Hamlets)
Hi I'm Sam and I'm the Community Cleanup Champion in Tower Hamlets the borough I've called home my whole life.
I work as a teaching assistant in a primary school and my whole career has been in childcare and education.
As a mum to two young daughters, I spend a lot of times in the park. I took my daughter along to our local litter picking group and I was shocked to see just how much litter is on our streets.
It inspired us to start our own litter picking group. It is a lovely monthly event that brings together people from all walks of life.
We clean our street and finish off with a cup of tea and a good chat - it is a great way to meet new people and connect with your local community
I'm excited to take on this role as Community Cleanup Champion and help to support the local clean up hubs and encourage more people to get involved. I truly believe small actions make a big difference.
