The Friends of Lyme and Wood Country Park was established in 2013. The volunteer group cares for and helps to manage Newton-Le-Willows' and Haydock's local Country Park of 274 acres - Merseyside's second largest public park.

The group holds two working parties each week - on Thursdays and Saturdays. Litter picking is a regular feature of these working parties, with larger one-off clean up events also held throughout the year - all are welcome.
