Susan Cooke (Dreams in Plastic) - A cold, but pleasant one today. I walked the boys without my litterpicking gear. BIG MISTAKE! I saw so much plastic, so the stuff I just couldn't leave behind had to be stuffed into poop bags! Why oh why do some dog owners go to the trouble of picking up their dog's dump, only for it to be chucked on the beach, or in a hedge??? 💩🐕????? #plasticpollution #beachclean #dogwalking #noplanetb

Dreams in Plastic - For some of us, we can remember when Twix were 13p! I do love a bit of vintage litter, and so far I think this is the oldest I've found. Preserved because it was knotted up. I've given it a wipe, as, to be fair it had been floating around for 40 years and was rather grubby! I did another hour or so on Marchfields Way this morning, the opposite side along the school perimeter. In just a 150m stretch, I picked a full Binit black sack weighing in at just under 10kg.

A busy afternoon 3 hours litter picking. 4 Adopt-a-Sreet bags and 2 carrier bags. Litter picked alongside the parked cars in Ellenborough Road North and South, along beach lawns and by the crazy golf. So many bottles, both glass and plastic, cans, paper cups and polystyrene take away food containers. My guess the majority is from the carnival which was amazing but oh boy what a mess the spectators left 🤬 I know Sophie, Jules and two volunteers collected 50 bags after the event and the Glendale team worked tirelessly to pick up the mess on both Saturday and Sunday. Thank you 😊 If only those who came to see this magnificent spectacle could be amazing and bin the rubbish or take it home or is that too much to ask 🙏
