The pick happened on Coronation Gardens recreation ground and the surrounding area. The litter pick was pulled together by ‘Battle for Change’, a community action group that has evolved from Battle Food Bank. There was a mixture of ages attending. One 12 year old boy asked if he could come along and help on the morning. This was to coincide with a litter pick around Battle Pavillion organised by Battle Town Council. There were some litter hot spots next to the play park and besides the railway. The litter pick gave people a chance to speak with local residents about issues affecting the area. The morning was very successful.

Cooden Beach, and Herbrand Walk. Teamed up with Carol from Wave Arts (another hub) who had completed a litter pick in the morning and brought headphones for a dancing litter pick! Started on beach due to recent spillages. Not much in litter except bits of fishing twine and some onions and garlic (spillage which was collected in separate bags). Met several people and chatted about what they and we had found also told them about the clean up hubs and the litter picking gear which is available for borrowing. Rescued a starfish

The group consisted of 9 Brownies and 3 leaders. The Brownies walked along the promenade towards galley hill (from the bandstand shelter), and returned along the pebbled beach to the bandstand shelter. They were very thorough in their search for litter. The leaders are very proud of how hard they worked.
