CleanupUK and Barratt Developments Celebrate the Success of First Big Barratt Clean Up
CleanupUK is thrilled to announce the remarkable success of the inaugural Big Barratt Cleanup campaign, conducted in partnership with The Barratt Foundation and Barratt Developments PLC. This collaborative effort saw over 430 Barratt employees from all levels of the organisation rolling up their sleeves to clean up litter in communities nationwide. In just two weeks, they collected over 500 bags of litter, weighing a total of 2.7 tonnes.
George Monck, Chief Executive of CleanupUK, commented:
“The inaugural Big Barrat Cleanup Campaign completely blew us away, The Barratt Foundation and Barratt Developments PLC employees in the Big Barratt Cleanup. Their enthusiastic volunteering has made a significant impact on protecting local communities and the environment throughout the UK, from Aberdeen to Exeter. Their dedication has left these areas cleaner and healthier.
It's heartening to witness many individuals developing a genuine passion for litter-picking. This newfound enthusiasm has inspired many of them to continue their efforts, not only with their team members but also with family and friends. Their commitment to maintaining clean and healthy environments is truly commendable.”
Tina Bains, Company Secretary and Barratt Foundation Trustee, commented:
“It has been fantastic to see how Barratt employees across the business have engaged in the Big Barratt Cleanup this Spring. Together, we collected over 500 bags of rubbish in our local areas which will have a positive impact on the environment and where Barratt builds. A huge thank you to everyone who got involved.”
CleanupUK partners with community organisations across the UK, providing litter-picking equipment for local people to use. Our aim is to inspire and motivate change in communities, creating cleaner, safer environments for people and nature throughout the UK.
